Mixed emotions for Wildcats

Cats back to winning ways after losing on Saturday night

After yesterday's away defeat against Milton Keynes, Swindon were looking to take vital points out of their home match against Telford Tigers.

Swindon were very much in control of the first period, looking very strong in defence, but unable to convert their chances into goals.

That was until ten minutes into the period, when Lee Richardson opened the scoreline to put the home side in the lead.

Aaron Nell then extended the lead with two superb goals to put Cats 3 goals ahead going into the break.

With less than a minute into the second period, Nell scored to gain his hatrick and to give the Cats a convincing 4 nil lead.

Telford looked to be dead and buried, and things got worse for the away side, when Kohut gave the Cats a 5-0 lead.

This appeared to be a turning point for Telford as they managed to pull back 4 unanswered goals in the remainder of the second period, leaving the third period everything to play for.

After a lousy second period performance from the home side, things got worse at the start of the third when Telford equalised to make the scoreline 5-5.

 Battle for victory

From being 5 nil up, to being level, Cats needed to pull something out of the bag - and captain Lee Richardson stepped up to give the Cats the lead once again.

With Telford looking to score and put the match into overtime, it was Swindon defenceman John Sitko who secured the victory for Swindon with an impressive goal from the blue line with just 2 minutes to go!

The game ended with a 7-5 win for Swindon.
